【Introduction】
Feline bordetellosis is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by the bacteria Bordetella bronchiseptica (Bbr). It causes inflammation of the trachea and bronchi. Cats infected with B. bronchiseptica shed bacteria in saliva ,nasal secretions and in droplets when they sneeze. The clinical signs are very similar to those of viral upper respiratory tract disease, including retching, sneezing, watery nasal discharge, coughing, pneumonia, inappetence, fever, and lethargy in severe cases.
Feline Chlamydophila is caused by Chlamydia felis (CFE) and primarily causes conjunctivitis, inflammation of the membrane lining the eyelid. Chlamydia felis is relatively common in both stray and domestic cats. Natural transmission occurs primarily via close association with infected cats, aerosolized organisms, and fomites.
Mycoplasma felis (MycFe), a small gram-negative bacterium, has been associated with conjunctivitis, rhinitis, bronchitis and pneumonia in cats, with clinical signs and lesions overlapping those seen with chlamydiosis, FVR, and FCR infections.
【Intended Use】
This product is used to qualitatively detect the nucleic acid of Bbr, CFE, and MycFe in swab samples collected from the nasopharynx, oropharynx, or conjunctiva of symptomatic cats. Gene from the host cell DNA is used as an internal control (IC).
【Specification】
• Packing: 1 Test/Pack, 4 Packs/Box
• Specimen: Nasopharyngeal swabs (NP), Oropharyngeal swabs (OP) or Conjunctival swabs
• Test Time: From sample preparation to final result < 1.5 hour.
