【Introduction】
Canine Upper Respiratory Tract Disease (URTD) is a group of conditions that affect the upper airways of dogs. Some common symptoms include coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, and difficulty breathing. The cause of URTD can be viral or bacterial infections, allergies, or environmental irritants.
Canine parainfluenza virus (CPIV) is a highly contagious respiratory virus and is one of the most common pathogens of infectious tracheobronchitis. CPIV is excreted from the respiratory tract of infected animals and is usually transmitted through the air.
Canine adenoviruses are pathogens of dogs that have been known for several decades. The two distinct types canine adenoviruses 1 (CAVI) and canine adenoviruses 2 (CAVII), are responsible for infectious canine hepatitis (ICH) and infectious tracheobronchitis (ITB), respectively. CAVI recognizes the vascular endothelial cells and hepatic and renal parenchymal cells as targets for viral replication, whereas CAVII replicates efficiently in the respiratory tract and, to a limited extent, in the intestinal epithelia.
【Intended Use】
This product is used to qualitatively detect the nucleic acid of CPIV, CAVI, and CAVII in swab samples collected from the nasopharynx, oropharynx, or conjunctiva of symptomatic dog. Gene from the host cell DNA is used as an internal control (IC).
【Specification】
• Packing: 1 Test/Pack, 4 Packs/Box
• Specimen: Nasopharyngeal swabs (NP), Oropharyngeal swabs (OP) or Conjunctival swabs
• Test Time: From sample preparation to final result < 1.5 hour.
