【Introduction】
Feline enteric coronavirus (FCoV, or FECV) is an enveloped, single-stranded RNA virus that is highly prevalent in domestic cats worldwide. Cats become infected through ingestion or inhalation of virus-containing feces or through contact with contaminated fomites. Infection is often subclinical or characterized by transient, mild GI illness in kittens, while FCoV mutations to a specific biotype are responsible for development of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), a highly fatal, multisystemic disease.
【Intended Use】
This product is used to qualitatively detect the nucleic acid of FCoV in rectal/fecal swabs. Gene from the host cell DNA is used as an internal control (IC).
