【Detection purpose】
Cat coronavirus infection is very common in cats.It is generally believed that the virus can cause diarrhea and infectious peritonitis symptoms.When the cat was infected with coronavirus, the body would produce cat coronavirus antibody. In the previous study, the antibody content in serum and ascites of cats with typical symptoms of infectious peritonitis was much higher than that of cats with intestinal infection caused by common coronavirus.If a high level of antibody is detected in the blood or ascites of a sick cat with suspected symptoms of infectious peritonitis, it will indicate that the cat has a high possibility of suffering from infectious peritonitis.
In addition, antibody detection has a certain significance of eliminating negative.The possibility of infectious peritonitis can be ruled out if the antibody in the blood is very low and the antibody is not significantly increased after 7 days of monitoring.
Clinical significance:
- Quantitative monitoring of coronavirus antibody concentration to determine whether the coronavirus is being infected (non carrier);
- The detection of high concentration antibody indicates that the possibility of infectious peritonitis is increasing;
- Negative diagnosis of infectious peritonitis was made.
【Detection principle】
The FCoV IgG antibody content in cat blood was detected by fluorescence immunochromatography. Basic principle: there are t and C lines on the nitrocellulose membrane. The binding pad is sprayed with fluorescent nanomaterial markers that can specifically recognize FCoV IgG antibody. The FCoV IgG antibody in the sample first combines with the nano material marker to form a complex, and then upward chromatography. The complex is combined with T-line. When the excitation light is irradiated, the nano material emits fluorescence signal, and the intensity of the signal is positively correlated with the concentration of FCoV IgG antibody in the sample.
