【Introduction】
Feline infectious anemia (FIA) is a contagious disease caused by a group of Mycoplasma (collectively known as "haemoplasma") that infect red blood cells in the blood. Haemoplasma attach to the surface of red blood cells and sometimes invade them. They destroy red blood cells, leading to the occurrence of hemolysis and anemia. At least three haemoplasmas have been found to be associated with FIA: Mycoplasma haemofelis (Mhf), Candidatus Mycoplasma haemominutum (Mhm), and Candidatus M. turicensis (Mtc). Sick cats often exhibit symptoms associated with anemia, including weakness, pallor, increased heart rate, and shortness of breath.
Babesiosis is a disease caused by infection of red blood cells by protozoan of the genus Babesia. Babesia spp. are classified as either large forms (e.g., B. canis, including B. canis canis, B. canis rossi, and B. canis vogeli) or small forms (e.g., B. gibsoni). Cats under the age of 2 are susceptible to babesiosis. Sick cats generally show lack of energy, decreased appetite, weight loss, diarrhea, anemia, gray coat color, etc., and some sick cats will have jaundice, fever, vomiting and respiratory symptoms.
【Intended Use】
This product is used to qualitatively detect the nucleic acid of three types of haemoplasmas (i.e. Mhf, Mhm and Mtc) and two types of Babesia (i.e. B. canis and B. gibsoni) in blood samples. Gene from the host cell DNA is used as an internal control (IC).
【Specification】
• Packing: 1 Test/Pack, 4 Packs/Box
• Specimen: Anticoagulated whole blood
• Test Time: From sample preparation to final result < 1.5 hour.
